Let's hope the top line get's on the score sheet tonight, a little confidence will go a long way, especially with Detroit tomorrow.

I can imagine Giroux feeling very limited with that top line.

Thankfully, Detroit didn't look too good late in their game last night.

So you're right, hopefully the boys get a win tonight and it gives them the confidence going into the Joe.

Bill, you have Rosehill in the projected lineup? Get lost!

I watched that Phoenix/Detroit game last night. They are going to be a tough nut to crack if the Flyers go back to their old ways tonight.

Assuming Bissonette is in, Rosehill will be in for sure. Also, on a subconscious level, I think Chief is not about to let members of the media tell him whom to play and whom to scratch.

the lines imo should be

Schenn-G-Voracek
Harntell-vinny-read
Simmonds-couts-Talbot (I dont like talbot on this line but who else are you going to put)

Quite jealous of that Phoenix defensive core.

Go back to their old ways? The only thing that really changed in the Florida game was the end result. And that was because Mason stood on his head.

Berube has had two practices under his belt, hopefully we see some things head in the right direction tonight.

Better find their legs soon. Can't afford not to be in game shape by now. Sounds like Laviolette mishandled the preseason.

How does it work with players being sent on their way from training camp. How much is the GM and how much is the coach? I didnt understand the split squad or the limited amount of games with the full roster.

Then I'll keep hoping Raffl or someone else in ADK starts lighting it up, and the Flyers call them up to the third line and move Talbot back to take Rosehill's spot.

Bill,
Can you give your opinion of how we got to where we are on the D pairings? Seems crazy to me that Cobie is in the "bottom pairing". Do you think these pairings will be reflective of TOI? And do you think Mez's play this year has pushed him up the depth chart or does he just play better with Streit than Grossmann? Clearly those two being different stylistically.

It's hard to imagine how many changes he could have made for the last game. I don't even care if they lose a couple off the bat as log as I see an earnest change in the breakout and overall team play. I expect some hiccups while they get it down. Please just don't show me more of the same.

I'm relatively encouraged by what Berube is saying, now they just have to translate that to the ice.

I know. He basically only had a morning skate. I was disappointed that they let Florida (perhaps the worst team in the NHL) take it to them for the better part of two periods.

The more I look at our D the less enamored I am with it. I'm hoping I see a more cohesive unit with the coaching change, but there a few guys back there that are question marks or ticking injury time bombs. I'd really like to see Gus get in.

Without Talbot that line becomes a bad defensive line. Simmonds is that bad in his own end IMO.

I'm sorry did I not phrase that completely right. "Continue to play as they have". Is that better Mr. Blart?

If the entire team is on the same page and putting in the effort to play a complete, team game -- the defense is fine. Unfortunately, we're not there yet.

They still worry me. Timonen could run out of gas at any moment and grossman and Mezsaros could start losing limbs. Or none of that will happen. The possibility of it scares me though. It's less about their talent level and more their fragility and age that make me nervous. The flyers could 4-0 and I'd still have those concerns.

The lack of confidence is hurting them right now, plus apparently their conditioning.

They played really good against Toronto for two periods. So it's not like this team doesn't have talent, and can't be competitive on a nightly basis.
